Ethiopia centre midfielder Addis Hintsa has completed a move back to the domestic league with Adama City FC after four years playing for Al Ahly Shendi, Sudan.

Addis abandoned the cash strapped Sudan side with 16 months still left on his contract over non payment of his salary and other allowances. The player has since reported the contractual dispute to CAF and FIFA with Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) joining in.

The 29-year old penned a two year deal with Adama, the 2015/16 Ethiopian Premier League second runners up, in a move informed by the need to be closer to family and desire to return to the national team Walia Ibex.

It is rumored, he should have returned to his former side Dedebit, but since Yohannes Sahle took over as Head Coach at the club,he changed his mind. The player is believed to be in bad terms with the former Walia Ibex boss who never considered him for national duty.

Described as a brilliant player, a physical beast with good technical quality, a tough tackler and a good ball player, Addis’ most memorable season remains the 2011/12, when he scooped the most valuable player accolade while with Dedebit FC before making a big move to Shendi in 2013.

It is in the same year, Addis who started off as a striker, earned maiden call up to Walia Ibex under Coach Shewnet Bishaw, helping them to a return to Nations Cup in 31 years.

Walia fans still remember his heroics when he picked up the gloves when keeper Sisay Bancha was sent off and Ethiopia had exhausted subs, in their last 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria, a match they lost 2-0.
