Five rounds to finishing tape, Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League title chasers Kayole will have ample time to correct wrongs of last week and close in at the top of table standings when they host MASA at Nakeel Grounds on Saturday.

In the absence of Jericho All Stars who swing back to action with a midweek fixture next week Wednesday, Kayole with 46 points have a golden chance to bridge three points gap separating them with a win and hope the Makadara outfit stumble when it matters most.

University students TUK, placed third on the log with 45 points, will have a chance to go up to second if they master a win against Meltah Kaberia.

The golden boot chase will also be in focus when Kawangware United travel to Baba Dogo. Leading top scorer Francis Thairu of Kawangware could add to the 19 he had scored to this end and move clear of the chasing pack.

Here’s a break down of Week 25:

SATURDAY

TUK VS MELTAH KABIRIA (1PM)

Defending champions TUK will have to roll out their winning magic when they battle West conference rivals and newly resuscitated Meltah Kabiria at Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Francis Oduor’s TUK are on the brink of reclaiming the crown they won last year after passing a strong test in Shauri Moyo Blue Stars beating them 1-0 last week to climb to 3rd on the table standings with 45 points, four shy of the leaders Jericho All Stars. The students will keen to climb up but will be wary of Shadrack Ateka’s Kabiria who have stealthily climbed into the top ten where they sit 8th with 37 points.

In their last match, the visitors played to a two all draw with Ajax FC to maintain their five match unbeaten record intact and buoyed by their 2-1 win over TUK in the reverse fixture, Melta will hope to repeat the same to move up on the log.

KAYOLE ASUBUHI VS MASA (3PM)

At the same venue, title contenders Kayole Asubuhi will be at home against MASA hoping to reduce the three point gulf separating them and the leaders Jericho All Stars at the top of the standings.

Wounded Asubuhi suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat- their fourth in the league- against underdogs Kawangware United in their last outing to sit second on the log with 46 points and the Isaiah Omondi’s boys will be hoping to get their act together if they are to clinch the Ksh 1m cash prize offered by the organisers of the competition, Extreme Sports.

On the other hand, Hassan Andale’s MASA who are placed 6th on the table standings with 38 points will hope that lightning will not hit the same place twice after going down 3-2 against the early risers in the first leg.

SUNDAY

DIGUNA FC VS METRO SPORTS (1PM)

Fans will be treated to a double header at Nakeel grounds in Rongai as Diguna FC entertains Metro Sports in a lunch time kick-off.

Metro Sports who are placed fifth with 41 points are eager to join the top three fold and a win will help them set their ambitions on course but will first have to go past Diguna who are equal to the task as they sit four places below at 9th with 33 points.

AJAX FC VS SHAURI MOYO BLUE STARS (3PM)

At the same venue, visiting Shauri Moyo Blue Stars are hoping to get three points from a well-formed Ajax FC.

Blue Stars slumped to fourth on the standings with 43 points after a 1-0 loss in their last match against TUK and the Ken Odera led side are hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they face off with the Rongai based side who got away with a point in their previous match and will hoping to do better at their own back yard for a chance to increase their point haul where they currently have 38 points at position 7.

BABA DOGO UNITED VS KAWANGWARE UNITED (3PM)

Elsewhere, Baba Dogo United invites west siders Kawangware United at Baba Dogo grounds hoping to put behind their 0-2 defeat at the hands of MASA in their last match that left them languishing at 14th with 18 points.

After hitting East conference bigwigs Kayole Asubuhi 2-1 last weekend, Kawangware United will be confident to bag the three points away. They sit 11 with 30 points and a win will see them join the top ten fray.

KABETE UNITED VS SHAMAKO BABES (3PM)

At Kabete grounds, minnows Shamako Babes will be away to Kabete United.

Shamako have struggled in the league where they are rooted at the base with 9 points and it will be seeking redemption against Kabete who are placed 10th with 31 points.
