Ethiopia Walia Ibex training camp was buzzing with activity on Tuesday after three Europe based players Walid Atta,Yousef Saleh and Amin Askar arrived ahead of the weekend clash against Mali.
Walid Atta and Amin Askar just recently called up by coach Mariano Barreto wil be hoping to make their debut after putting forward their wish to play International football for Ethiopia.
Ethiopia Walia Ibex coach Mariano Barreto was upbeat as he spoke to Soka25east.com “Everything is going alright and the boys look buoyant in training.The arrival of the Europe trio has added impetus to the team and hopefully they will show their best in training ahead of the important game”Barreto said.
On his part Walid Atta expressed his optimism and happiness at joining the team saying “i have always wanted to play for Ethiopia and being called up was a one of my best moments.Its time to work hard and to prove myself and hopefully make my debut for Ethiopia against Mali at this very crucial stage”Atta told Soka25east.com upon arrival in Addis Ababa.
For speedy winger Amin Askar the call up came at the right time as he promised to give 100 percent if given an opportunity “i am really happy to have got this great opportunity to play for Ethiopia.I am glad coach Barreto has given me a chance of a lifetime and not its only to work hard and ensure i give my best to help against Mali in the important game”Askar told Soka25east.com
Ethiopia play Mali over the weekend and will need to win the game after losing their two previous matches against Algeria and Malawi.
