The intrigues around the future of highly rated Mali and Rayon Sports striker Ismaila Diarra won’t end now.
The lastest from DR Congo indicates that the 24-year old prolific goal scorer has penned a two year deal with Kinshasa side Daring Club Motema Pembe.
Diarra was heavily linked with a move to Kenya’s AFC Leopards in June but the deal flopped even after agreeing to 18-months contract, instead, he extended his stay with Rayon for a further one year.
Leopards threated to report the player for disciplinary action at FIFA.
A picture of the former Djoliba SC, Morocco’s Shabab Atlas Khenifra and Azam FC of Tanzania striker, with a section of DC Motema Pembe technical staff has been doing rounds online giving weight to the story, however, Rayon Sports Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya has maintained the player is still theirs;
“I’m not aware of the move. As far as I know, Diarra went for holiday and he is expected back this weekend.” Gakwaya told Soka25east.com from Rwanda.
Sources close to the Nyanza based side, reveals, indeed the player was sold and the club is hunting for an Ivorian replacement.
Diarra banged in 13 goals, helping Rayon to a runner up finish in the Azam Rwanda premier league and a Peace Cup glory last season. His teammate, Ugandan, David Kasirye already signed for Motema Pembe.
