Ahead of the new 2016/17 season of Ethiopian top tier league, the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) early October, big guns have continued to shake the transfer market, securing deals and beefing up their squads in readiness to challenge for domestic honors.

-Champions St. George FC are tying down their star players and have so far succeeded in handing Adane Girma, Alula Girma, Mintesenot Adane and Zerihun Tadele new improved deals.

The horsemen are also in talks with Walia Ibex international Gataneh Kabede for a possible transfer of the gifted attacker from Premier Soccer League (PSL) side University of Pretoria “Amatuks”, South Africa.
Kidus Giorgis have also been reported to be in search of a few players from West Africa more specifically Ghana or Cameroon.

The team heads for pre-season outside Addis Ababa in the City of Debre-Zite.

-Ethiopian Coffee secured the signature of Nigerian Samuel Sanomi from Dedebit on a free transfer. The prolific striker whose contract with Dedebit elapsed at the close of the previous season was handed a two year deal to the surprise of many fans.

Samuel was top scorer in the EPL during 2014/15 season. He has also turned out for Nigid Bank previously.

-Dedebit has announced trials for 14 players from Ghana and Cameroon. The players will be in the country at their own expense. Former Walia Coach Yohannes Sahle who is currently the head Coach of Dedebit will recommend successful trialists for signing by the club.
