Ethiopian international center forward Getaneh Kebede has made a U-turn back to Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) side Dedebit FC where he blossomed three years ago.

The proven goal poacher has been confirmed at Dedebit after signing a two-year deal with the Blues.

Kebede was a free agent after seeing off his three year contract with Bidvest Wits of South Africa. He was rumored to have attracted interests from other Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs but nothing materialized as he returned home.

The 24-year old top scored for Dedebit in the 2012/2013 season – helping them to win the EPL that season; it was after the splendid outing that he made the big dollar move to the “Clever Boys” in the PSL, however his stay was rocky and in 2015 he was loaned to Amtuks for a whole season, where he stayed till the University of Pretoria side got relegated last season.

Gataneh has remained a stalwart for “Walia Ibex” scoring 8 goals for the national side in six consecutive outings, including in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Seychelles on the final day of AFCON 2017 qualifiers.

EPL is still in pre-season with the new 2016/17 season expected to kick-off mid-October.
