Nampundwe were eliminated from the 2016 Barclays Cup by Konkola Blades 5-3 on penalties after the second preliminary fixture ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Konkola Blades who were once a force in the Zambian Super League conceded in the 57th minute when Tenson Mumba found the back of the net to send the Nampundwe technical bench into celebrations.
But Konkola Blades equalized at the very death in the 84th minute through Kilo Mwepu to send the match to penalties.
Blades displayed experience in the shootout converting 5 spot kicks while Nampundwe converted only 3 spot kicks.
Konkola Blades will face the FAZ MTN League Champions Zesco United.
