Ethiopia’s U17 team the “Red Foxes” will have to dig deeper to reverse a 2-0 first leg loss to Mali on Sunday to book a place in Madagascar in a fortnight’s time.

A lapse in concentration in the last twenty minutes of the third round qualifier saw the visitors concede a penalty in the 73rd which Hadji Drame cooly buried, before Djemoussa Traore drilled in the second four minutes to stoppage time to cement the victory.

The Malians travel to Hawassa City for the second leg where the aggregate winner will get a ticket to the U17 Nations Cup billed for Madagascar from 2–16 April 2017.

In another match of the day Tanzania’s Serengeti Boys edged visiting DR Congo 3-2 to put themselves in the pole position pending the second meet.
