Ivory Coast and Paris St. German (PSG) player Sergue Aurier has been sentenced to two months in jail for assaulting a police officer while leaving a night club in May.

The 23-year-old elbowed the police officer after he was called for a breath test after leaving a night club in the French capital Paris.

PSG will presume the defender innocent pending an appeal outcome and he is likely to feature for the moneybags in the Wednesday Champions league.

“Because of his appeal, PSG still presume the player innocent as the case is still ongoing.” A statement from the club read.

According to the authorities, the officer had to take a day off to recover from his injuries occasioned by the elbowing.
