Proline FC on Tuesday registered their first win of the season with a 2-1 win over bottom side JMC hippos at Kakindu stadium.
In the muddy pitch of Kakindu due to the heavy down pours, the visitors dominated the the first quater of the match attacking from all corners and their efforts paid off in the 7th minute with Daniel Isiagi tapping a Saidi Kyeyune header off a Gift Ali cross silencing the home fans.
From there the home side pressed for an equaliser until the 16th minute when Proline captain Mbaziira Simon’s pass failed to reach Mandela due to mud effects which saw the resultant cross being well headed past goalkeeper Saidi Keni to levels matters.
The home side continued attacking in full support of their fans but defender Savio Kabugo was alert to deal with all threats.
Minutes later Proline FC regained position which saw them get a penalty after a great through ball by Gift Ali was well controlled by Edriisa Lubega who was brought down by a JMC defender and the resultant penalty from Captain Mbaziira Simon was saved by the goalkeeper to end the first half 1-1.
In the second half, home side JMC attacked in hunt for the second goal but the proline defence was alert to deal with all threats.
The awaited moment then came in the 65th minute when prodigal son Edriisa “Torres”Lubega netted the match winner and his first goal this season with a simple follow up tap in after a Gift Ali rebound was put back in play by the goalkeeper to finally bury his five match goal drought.
The home side again tried to attack but defender Savio Kabugo and Company were at ease to deal with all kind of threats.
2-1 in ended with yellow cards being shown to defenders Savio Kabugo and Mukisa Yusuf which rules them out of the next match against Lweza FC.
