Ugandan born goalkeeper Eric Dhaira guided his club IBV to a third place finish in the Iceland reserve league after a 2-1 win in their final match of the season in which he was also voted man of the match.

“We played our last game and convincingly won 2:1. I was voted man of the match and my team emerged 3rd in the league. Am proud of my performance and helping the team reach there though if it were not for a few errors, we would have been crowned champions.” He posted on his official Facebook fans page.

Eric is the younger brother to the late goalkeeper Abel Dhaira who passed on this year due to cancer in Iceland.

The former Soana FC goalkeeper left for Iceland on request of his late brother who asked IBV to sign him up as his replacement after getting bed ridden. At his burial Eric reminded IBV members of staff about his brothers request and they later processed all the required paper work and he finally departed.
