SC Villa coach Deo Sserwanda found himself jobless on Sunday afternoon less than 24 hours after his side was beaten by Onduparaka FC in Azam Uganda Premier League match.
Deo Sserwanda who previously coached Kyambogo University before joining 16-time league champions three months ago was sent home after the club management met and did an audit of the club’s poor performance in the past seven games.
Villa President President Ben Missaga said he could not divulge the reasons behind the sacking of Deo which came just day after a dramatic 4-3 away defeat to Onduparaka at the Green Light Stadium remaining fourth, six points behind leaders KCCA.
“Yes I can confirm that we have decided to part ways with Deo Sserwanda for various reasons some of which I may not divulge but you and I know poor results also play a big role in the firing of a coach,” said Ben Missaga.
Sserwanda’s sacking came as a shocker to the local football fraternity. Indeed, the Jogoos have of late performed dismally but they remain in contention for the UPL title.
The coach took reigns at SC Villa after the club fired its previous coach, Ibrahim Kirya in July this year.
