Kenyan referee Davis Omweno will oversee CAF champions league first leg clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Zamalek SC at Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria, South Africa on October 15.

The acclaimed whistle blower who has lately been entrusted with high profile matches in the competition and in the CAF Confederations Cup, will be assisted by Eritrean Berhe O’Michael as first assistant and Rwandan Theogene Ndagijimana as second assistant.

Another Rwandese, Celestin Ntagungira will be the Referee Assessor with Sidio Jose Mugadza from Mozambique being the match’s general Coordinator.

On June 18, Omweno was in the middle of Zesco United versus Ahly tie in Ndola, Zambia at the group phase of the ultimate club competition in Africa. He also officiated Medeama SC’s clash against TP Mazembe in the CAF Confederations Cup at the same level on August 14.

At the beginning of the two competitions in February, Omweno oversaw TP Mazembe, Etoile De Sahel CAF Super Cup showdown in Lubumbashi, DR Congo.
