RELEGATION BATTLE AND MY FOUR PICKS TO GO DOWN

Games in hand are pilling up in the FAZ Super League and this is affecting some teams in the relegation battle that has become more interesting that what is happening at the top of the league where ZANACO looks to be running away with the title,  Of course ZESCO United will have a say on that run.

By concentration is in the relegation and as at close of Week 28, no team is confirmed demoted but Mufulira Blackpool, bottom of the league is a game from relegation.

MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL (11 POINTS)

Their maximum points will only be 29 and with the poor record of not winning a single game the entire season. I can comfortably say, Mufulira Blackpool is done. They will be playing Division one football in the 2017 season.

LUSAKA TIGERS (21 POINTS)

4 wins, 9 draws and 14 losses is not good enough for Lusaka Tigers to survive relegation and even though they are mathematically safe and can survive, their stay in the Super League is out of their hands as they expect a lot of work to be done by other teams which mainly does not work in Football.

REMAINING GAMES

They have a game in hand against defending Champions ZESCO (Home) , then follows an away fixture to inform Forest Rangers before hosting Nkwazi in week 40.

The rest of the four games are against Green Eagles, Mufulira Blackpool, Kabwe Warriors and Power Dynamos.

That’s not an easy run and not even Blackpool without a win would want to end the season without a win.

MY THOUGHT: LUSAKA TIGERS TO BE RELEGATED

LUSAKA DYNAMOS (26 POINTS)

The remaining games for Lusaka Dynamos include:

Nakambala(away)

NAPSA (Home)

ZESCO United (Away)

Red Arrows (Home)

Forest Rangers (Away)

Nkwazi (Home)

Green Eagles (Away)

These are not easy fixtures for Lusaka Dynamos and the challenge is that two of the teams they are playing will also be fighting against relegation,

MY THHOUGHT: LUSAKA DYNAMOS TO BE RELEGATED

BUT WHICH ONE WILL BE THE FOURTH TO JOIN THE THREE?

That’s where it becomes interesting and I will be following the end of the season closely.

We have Mufulira Wanderers (28 ), Green Eagles (28 ) , Nchanga Rangers (31), NAPSA (32) , Lumwana Radiants (33), Nakambala (33) and Nkwazi (33)

My calculations says these are the seven teams that will be seriously candidates to join the three that will be relegated and perhaps I would say among the 7 the teams that stand a better chance of survival are NAPSA, Nkwazi and Nakambala Leopards .

That leaves Lumwana Radiants, Mufulira Wanderers, Green Eagles and Nchanga Rangers . One of these will go down to Division One.

Here is what I think

Lumwana Radiants

Very strong at home and their games in hand are against ZESCO and ZANACO but they have home games against Nakambala Leopards and Nkana. One away fixture which will be interesting is their away fixture at Mufulira Wanderers. The other two away games are at Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes. They end the season away to NAPSA.

MY THOUGHT: LUMWANA WILL SURVIVE RELEGATION

Mufulira Wanderers

Their season strongly hangs on the balance and one fixture they will be looking forward to is the home game against Lumwana Radiants, otherwise the rest look tough, Power Dynamos, Nakambala, NAPSA, Red Arrows away look seriously tough games and Mufulira Wanderers would have to be at their level best to pick points on the road. They are called draw specialists, they maybe in that position  but they are good at getting points, they will beat Lumwana Radiants at home and negotiate for any draws on the road.

MY THOUGHT: MUFULIRA WANDERERS WILL SURVIVE RELEGATION

Green Eagles

They have Power Dynamos (home) , Mufulira Blackpool(away),Kabwe Warriors (home) , Lusaka Tigers (away) Nchanga Rangers (Home) ZANACO (away) Lusaka Dynamos (Home)

Without a doubt Green Eagles has fair games and will survive relegation.

MY THOUGHT: GREEN EAGLES WILL SURVIVE RELEGATION

Nchanga Rangers

They have ZESCO United –Away , Red Arrows –Home , Forest Rangers –Away , Nkwazi-Home, Green Eagles –Away , Mufulira Blackpool-Home and Kabwe Warriors Away.

Nchanga Rangers has been poor in the second round of games and the last games don’t look easy for the team but they will definitely beat Mufulira Blackpool at home and get relegated to DIVISION ONE.

MY THOUGHT: NCHANGA RANGERS WILL BE RELEGATED TO DIVISION ONE

WEEK 28

FOUR TEAMS

Nchanga Rangers

Lusaka Dynamos

Lusaka Tigers

Mufulira Blackpool will be relegated
