Vodacom Premier League management board has handed Simba SC a fine of $2291 for weekend’s chaos during their league match against sworn enemies Yanga SC which ended 1-1 at the National stadium, Dar es Salaam.
The former champions have also been ordered to pay for damages caused by their fans to the facility.
The government has since banned the two giants of Tanzania football from using the two 60,000 sitter capacity stadium.
A repeat of chaos will attract heavy penalties including banning fans from attending their home matches.
Trouble started in the 26th minute when Amissi Tambwe scored a controversial goal for the hosts; what followed was a section of Simba fans venting their anger by uprooting plastic chairs and throwing them into the field.
Security officers however managed to restore order by dispersing the unruly fans using teargas.
The board has also reversed a red card handed to Simba skipper Jonas Mkude which they found undeserving.
They are also reviewing the level of refereeing during the tie with intention of taking action against the center ref Martin Saanya and his assistants Samwel Mpenzu and Ferdinand Chacha if found culpable.
