Tanzanian giants Yanga and Simba have been cleared to host their home games at Uhuru Stadium adjacent to the National Stadium, the Vodacom Premier League Board spokesman Boniface Wambura confirmed on Monday.

The reigning champions Yanga face third-placed Mtibwa Sugar on Wednesday in their first tie since the chaotic Dar es Salaam derby against their biggest archrivals Simba on October 1 at the National Stadium that ended in destruction of seats and property by Simba fans.

Tanzanian Minister of Sports Nape Nnauye gave the directive the following daycalling out both Simba and Yanga for the damage on national property.

A week later after several negotiations among Yanga, Simba, the Tanzania Football Federation and VPL Board, the four parties have agreed that the Kariakoo based clubs will host their home games at the 23,000-seater Uhuru Stadium.

Yanga sit in sixth position with 11 points from six games with two in hand and will be looking to close the gap with table leaders Simba who have amassed 17 points in seven games played with a game in hand.

Stand United are second on the log with 16 points from eight games while Mtibwa Sugar and Mbeya City are third and fourth with 14 and 12 points respectively. Kagera Sugar are fifth with 12 points.

Simba face Mbeya City at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya while Stand United will be up against Azam FC and MajiMaji face Kagera Sugar on Wednesday.
