Coach Hunt has been impressed by the talented but temperamental striker who who started training with the Clever Boys after the Christmas break when he arrived in South Africa from India where he played in the Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata.
Gavin Hunt confirmed that Fikru will be handed a deal as he told reporters “I’m taking Fikru. I have to. He is free and we are going to sign free players. He will add fight. If you want to go to Africa this is the player you want to go with.
“He is a soldier, he will fight and kick he knows what to do and that’s one of the reasons. He can also help us balance the strikers we got here.”
Fikru Tefera was instrumental in his side Atletico de Kolkata curving a niche for himself while scoring crucial goals. He was later released by the club through mutual consent after developing a harmstring injury that affected his stay.
