Uganda premier league side Express F.C have today (Thursday 27) signed a sponsorship deal with Pay Television, DSTV, worth over UG Shillings 300million ($ 86,601) for the 2016/17 season.
The package offers kitting, cash payment, monthly best player and man of the match awards during home games among others.
“We have carefully made a choice to commit to Express F.C as a main sponsor and are proud to associate with a legendary brand name. DSTV believes and seeks to support local content extensively and sports is a principal part of our content through our Supersport brand,” DSTV Uganda Marketing Manager Phoebe Nakabazzi said during the unveiling ceremony in Kampala.
She, however, cautioned against acts against hooliganism, “DSTV as a brand will not tolerate hooliganism and encourage the sport to be played in a spirit of fair play.”
Express chairperson Nakiwala Kiyingi on the other hand thanked the new partners for the in-time support, “We do not take lightly your commitment. It serves as a great reminder of our legendary position in the soccer fraternity and we are geared to continue working tirelessly as we seek to climb up the table.”
DSTV will work closely with the club’s management to boost the team spirit by awarding the best player of the month throughout the season. Fans will also benefit from a quarterly award of a fully connected decoder for the best morale-boosting fan.
