Former Arsenal striker Gervinho has been left out of the Ivory Coast squad for November 12 World Cup qualifier against Morocco and a friendly with France three days later.
The Hebei Fortune of China player picked up a cruciate ligament injury raising fears that he may also miss next years African Cup of Nations.
Gervinho joins Manchester United defender Eric Bailly on the sidelines.Bailly has been out of action for nearly a month with knee injury suffered during his club match aganist Chelsea.
Making a return to the squad is Solomon Kalou after missing last month’s qualifier aganist Mali with coach Michel Dussuyer including new faces. Axel Kacou of French side Tours,Nicholas Pepe who plays for Angers in France and Jelus Eboue of Russian side Krasnodar are the new call-ups.
