The ongoing dispute between the Mali football federation President Boubacar Diarra and Sports Minister Houssein Paulo Guindo could make FIFA clack the whip.

Despite being warned by FIFA, the minister has persisted to meddle in the business of Femafoot and is determined to undermine the authority of it’s President Boubacar Diarra.

According to reports in the media, honourable Houssein Guindo in company of the National Sports Council Chairman traveled to Zürich with a mission to meet General Secretary Fatima Samoura over the crisis of football in his country. Unfortunately were not allowed to enter FIFA premises without a latter notifying their visit from Femafoot.

The two parties having been differing over the converging of the General Assembly which is billed on 30th November 2016 according to Femafoot statuses.

The Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) passed a verdict that the General Assembly should be held in accordance to the constitution. CAS verdict did not indicate weather an Annual or Extraordinary General meeting should be held.

Diarra and his General Secretary wants to hold an EGM a day before the scheduled AGM, the decision which is against the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Council.

Should FIFA Clark the whip, Mali will be ineligible to participate in all the tournaments. Thus far, the country has qualified to the 2017 Senior Men’s, Women, U17 and U20 Africa Cup of the nations in Gabon, Cameroon and Zambia respectively.
