South Africa came from a goal down to hold Mozambique to a one all draw in an enternatining international friendly at the Estfadio do Zimpeto on Tuesday evening.
The Mambas had to soak in a lot of pressure in the opening exchanges and as early as the first minute Thuso Phala beat a defender with pace as he bore down on goal forcing Mozambican gaolie in to an early save.
But,the visitors chances dropped after the first fifteen minutes with Ramahlwe Mpalele header going off target with action turning to Mozambique who took control of the game with Pelembe making good runs in the flanks.
Minutes later Clesio Bauque opened the scoring in the 25th minute as he pounched on a rebound from Pelembe effort into the back of the net.
South Africa were awakened by the goal and the team started stringing some good passes as they settled well in the game. On 32nd minutes Ramahlwe floated in a great cross but Vedwijk was not fast enough to meet it and the ball sailed out for a goal kick.
South Africa went into the break wounded and came back with a more attacking strategy with coach Owen da Gama making a couple of changes which proved worthy as the South Afica took in pressure well fighting back their way to the game.
On the 50th minute, Mambas broke forward and a clever Telinho pass released Pelembe who shot aganist the cross bar from the inside area.
Bafana Bafana equaliser finally came in 56th minute when Bradely Grobler made his presence count with a well caculated finish coming from a nice set up by Mpahlele.
Mozambique should have made it 2-1 in the 62nd minute but Pelembe hit the woodwork with the goal at his mercy.
Clayron Daniels nearly sealed the victory for South Africa at the death but his effort could only trouble the woodwork with Bafana unable to finish off the chance and could only stare at the turf in disblief.
