Former Barcelona and Cameroonian superstar, Samuel Eto’o will be in Mauritania on 9th December 2016 to attend the third edition of Mauritania Football Federation Awards (FFRIMS) in a ceremony to be held in the country’s capital,Nouakchott.
The 35year old, who currently plays for Turkish side Antalyspor , is also scheduled to hold talks with President of the Republic of Mauritania,His Excellency Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz about his plans for the creation of Eto’o Academy in the country.
The star will also receive an award from the local football governing body as a recogonation for his contribution to football development in the continent.
The former striker, who skippered Cameroon when they won the 2000 Olympic title, will also spend time with children from various football academies of the country.
Eto’o, capped 118 times, scoring 56 goals for Cameroon between 1997 and 2014, is the most decorated African player of all the time, having won the African Player of the Year award a record four times: in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. He was third in the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2005.
