Cameroonian football legend Rigobert Song is recovering well after a succesful surgery done at the beginning of October by doctors from Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital in Paris, France.
Song was flown to France from Yaounde two months ago after going into a coma for two days in what doctors later said was a stroke.
In a statement from the doctors who operated him,the surgery done was to repair three aneurysms which believed to be the cause of the stroke.
The government of Cameroon is catering for Song’s medical bills and is beleived to be spending several millions of Central African Francs.
Song is the Cameroon longest serving captain and has been serving as one of the managers of the Niger national team. He is celebrated at home and abroad by fans of the national team and European football clubs including England’s Liverpool and West Ham.
