Ulinzi Stars FC have commenced training ahead of their continental and domestic assignments next season.
The military side will be representing Kenya in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup and in an interview with club portal their club Chairman Erick Oloo has urged the players to up their game ahead of the next season.
“We have to ensure we get ready early enough and the long break was not going to be healthy for us. Our target is to make a mark in continental football next season and starting early is key. We will also have 25 players scouted from the CDF Cup who will train with us and the coach will pick the best from the lot,” chairman Lt Col Erick Oloo said.
The club chairman has also disclosed they are working on arranging friendly matches aganist Uganda or Tanzania clubs to give the players a good launching pad ahead of new season.
“It is important to play against tougher teams and we have some clubs in Tanzania and Uganda but all that will depend on their availability since their league is still on,” Lt. Col. Oloo added.
Ulinzi Stars will know their preliminary round opponents on December 22 when the Confederation of African Fooball (CAF) conducts the draw.
