Comoros held Mozambique to a 2-2 draw on Friday in their first game at the 2016 Cosafa U-20 Championships in South Africa.
Comoros drew the first blood in the tenth minute through Said Hicham with his goal cancelled by Nilton Ernesto a minute before half time to end their advantage.
Bruno Alberto Langa put the Young Mamba’s ahead in the last quarter of second half less than fifteen minutes before Habib Yassouf scored in the injury time.
Comoros started the game on a higher note, and it was little wonder that they opened the scoring in the 10th minute.
Naimdine broke away on the right side before cutting a shot back for Said Hicham to drive home the first goal.
Comoros continued to control the game, but Mozambique were at hand to score when they saw an opening in the opponent’s defence a minute before half-time.
Mustafa played a corner onto the way of Muze with a high ball getting to Nilton Ernesto and the striker,made no mistake with a powerful header.
After the break, Mozambique continued to dominate possession, leaving Comoros on the back foot for the most part.
Bruno Alberto Langa, though, netted the Mozambique second against from a corner , capitalizing on a miscommunication between defenders and goalkeeper Caiado to poke a shot on goal.
Fifteen minutes to full-time, the Coelacanthes , still very much on the back foot, had another chance to equalize but Naimandine Antoise sent the ball wide.
Mozambique looked like claiming the three points but Comoros scored in the 90th minute to peg the game at 2-2.
