Angola cruised into the semifinals of the Cosafa U-20 Championships topping Group C when they thoroughly outclassed their Seychelles counterparts 4-0 on Saturday.
There were some deft early touches from Francisco Sacalumbo, with the forward jumping for a header sending the ball over the bar coupled with another miss two minutes later this time shooting poorly in the box.
Angola camped in Seychelles half with their efforts rewarded on 20th minute when Sacalumbo out of nowhere slided the ball home from close range for an early opener.
Fernados Morais held up play for Alves to deliver a nice pass , where Nelson Da Luz prodded high into the net.
Seychelles were soon cut open again as Churtill Rose failed to cut out a throughball and Felix Vladimiro charged into the box before unleashing a thunderbolt to make it 3-0 at half time.
On resumption, Sacalumbo was at it again with a header bouncing off with Seychelles being rescued by the post.
Four minutes into the second half, Tirant fumbled a deflected cross from Da Luz , but made amends with a magnificent reaction save to deny Sacalumbo his brace after Valdimiro kept the ball alive.
There was a relentless feel to Angolan football as the match passed the hour as they zipped the ball around stylishly and pinned Sychelles inside their own half.
Da Luz was responsible for it not becoming a chastening evening for his team-mates, as he outwitted Ceaser in a one-on-one and Da Luz denied once more.
Angola’s complete mastery of the contest was summed up by Catraio lobbing the ball to the front to start the move that ended with Pedro Alves sending powerful shot from range slipping through Tirant’s palm and into the net at near post burrying the Islanders in a last minute score.
