Ghananian International and former AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed how he made mistakes in his football career squandering his hard earned cash in a period of two years.
Speaking to Marca, Boateng,29,now at Las Palmas, is finding his form in Spain and is now more mature having spent his money on cars, clubs and friends whom he claimed he should not have been with.
“In two years I spent all my money on cars, clubs and friends that really weren’t,” Boateng told Marca.
“For a guy like me, I grew up in a poor neighbourhood, and having all that money to spend was dangerous.”
He adds: “I regret a lot of things. When I was younger I didn’t work hard because I could rely on my talent.
“That’s not the right path. I wish I’d worked harder but, then again, it was normal back then, since I was the boss of my town and had money and fame.”
A reformed Boateng, has so far scored five goals for Las Palmas this season. They are ninth in La Liga, with the minnows doing well with Boateng’s experience contributing much to the club success.
