Nakumatt FC have dropped a whopping 15 players among them former Gor Mahia promising attacking midfielder Kevin “Ade” Omondi whose one-year-contract expired.

Also axed by the National Super League side are former AFC Leopards forward Khalid Jumaan, Lazarus Simba, Cornelius Juma, Joseph Kariuki, Tyrone Owino, Wanjala Edwin, James Sadicky Mukhwana, Mustafa Ogutu, Rampei Lewis Lewis, Stephen Aura, Kariuki (formerly Nzoia FC), Charles Ouma, Jacob Otieno and Peter Mwachi.

Ade, a technically gifted player, was once viewed as the future of creative play at the national team “Harambee Stars”, but his career took a nose dive since he left Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia, where he made his name, for a failed move to South African side Moroka Swallows in 2014.

His return to the local scene with 2009 champions Sofapaka in 2015 failed reignite his past glory, and he was loaned to Kariobangi Sharks on a six-month deal, before crossing over to Nakumatt this season.

Ade has also been dogged by accusations of indiscipline during his career.

Nakumatt who finished fourth in the league this season are preparing for life in the topflight (that if four teams will be promoted to KPL) and are believed to be lining up fresh talents to animate their squad during the January transfer window.
