Young Chipolopolo this evening beat DR Congo 2-1 to advance to the final of the 2016 COSAFA U20 Championships.
Zambia started the match on a high knowing that only two matches stood between them and an 11th COSAFA title. Fashion Sakala threatened early on and had his goal ruled for off side on the 16th minute.
The tournaments topscorer was however not going to be denied the second time looking and opened the scoring in the 36th minute taking his goal tally to 4 goals. DR Congo replied quick with a 41st minute goal courtesy of Chadrack Lukombe to level matters. The second half ended with the scores level on 1-1.
The match was some what a cage affair in the second half . Zambia finally got the break in the 77th minute when Boyd Musonda scored from a free kick. The young Chipolopolo held on to win 2-1.
Zambia has qualified to the final where they will face either Angola or South Africa.
