Victor Wanyama finally scored his second for Tottenham Hutspur in the Premier League in Wednesday’s 3-0 thumping of Hull City at the White Hart Lane, and the Kenyan international is feeling relieved after coming agonisingly close in the past two outings.

“I’ve been having a tough week. My chance on Saturday against Swansea and the chance at Manchester United. The staff has been giving me stick; they’ve been telling me there’s no point in me going to the goal because I keep on passing to the keeper. Today I was at the right place and managed to score so I went to the bench to tell them off,” “the Lion of Muthurwa” explained his celebration after scoring the third goal.

Christian Eriksen netted a brace in the match. Wanyama acknowledged “great team performance”, and expressed happiness at being on the scoresheet.

The former Southampton man missed Spurs’ best chance to equalize against United in 1-0 loss at Old Trafford on Sunday 11, and before that he squandered a glorious chance in 5-0 win against Swansea on Saturday 3 at home.

They remain 5th on the table standings on 30 points – 10 adrift of leaders Chelsea, and 3 ahead of former champions Manchester United.
