South Sudan Football Association(SSFA) is to hold an extraordinary board meeting on 19 December 2016, following the suspension of president Mr.Chabur Goc Alei.
The announcement comes days after FIFA issued a directive asking the Board of Directors of the SSFA to give a hearing opportunity to the suspended president Mr. Alei whose suspension came due to allegations of financial impropriety
The executive board of directors had not been due to meet until the re-scheduling of postponed assembly but will now convene at the behest of several members including suspended football boss Mr. Alei.
He apparently want it to discuss his suspension and the situation that made the country withdraw from CAF Champions League 2017.
In a letter sent to board members and copied to FIFA, South Sudan Football Association boss said: ” Following the correspodence from FIFA General Secretary Fatma Samoura, I would like to call for an extraordinary meeting of board of directors (emergency) to disscus two agendas, suspension of the president of SSFA and CAF Champions League 2016.”
“With much respect to all members, an indepedent auditor, the legal adviser will be present and all members who were not present on ex-meeting that board of directors held on 29th November 2016,” part of the letter reads.
The issues are expected to be discussed in the Issa Hayotou Meeting Hall at the federations headquarters in what is seen as a chance to retain the president who was outsted by a section of board members.
