Zimbabwe’s Warriors coach Callisto Pasuwa has reportedly handed a 31-man provisional squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) that will be held in Gabon starting on 14 January 2017.
According to reports with a Zimbabwean newspaper which surfaced this morning the squad will be trimmed to 23 ahead of the finals despite strong denials by the Zimbabwe Football Association.
Conspicuously missing in the squad is FC Platinum goalkeeper Petros Mhari and England based Macauley Bonne who were ignored.
With Ronald Chitiyo returning to the team, the Warriors provisional squad boosts of fifteen foreign-based players and 16 home-based players.
Zimbabwe are in Group B together with Algeria,Tunisia and Senegal.
