Relations between the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA),President and his deputy have hit a new low after Chabur Goc Alei took aim at Andrea Abdallah over previous decision made by football body to withdraw from Confederations of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League.
Alei’s barbed comments came as Adallah led faction coup that suspended the legitimate leader in an board meeting accusing the football boss of corruption in a decision that FIFA has decline to take unless the secretary general provides necesary document to show how the decision was reached.
In the new twist Federation President has congratulated the league champions Atbalara FC for being in CAF Champions league indicating that it is through his intervention that made their partcipation happen after Abdallah’s led team decided to pull the team out.
“Congratulations for Atlabara FC , for being in CAF champions league to represent South Sudan , after the decision which was taken by the coup Leader Andrea Abdallah to withdraw from CAF Champions League”
” After my seriousness to have a club representing my nation South Sudan in CAF CL 2017 and after a very successful correspondents with CAF leadership to include a club in this very important competition finally was accepted , thanks to CAF thanks to Hayatou , Atlabra FC will meet Coton Sport from Cameroon”,Chabur said in a statement.
Following the board meeting on 30th November that took decision for his suspension, Alei also condemned the federation secretary general,Antony John,whom had led the campaign to outs him.
Alei, who triumphed despite the corruption claim , had thrown towel before the intervention of FIFA that instructed the federation to prove the claims of cash embezzlement.
Adrea Abdallah has been vocal in his criticism of Alei throughout his tenure and had vowed push him out of federation with support from a section of board members before the 30th November 2016 meeting where he”suceeded”.
