Real Nakonde former coach Noel Phiri says he is disappointed that the club did not give him chance to drill the team in the Super league after working so hard to earn promotion.
The Muchinga province based team sidelined Phiri last week opting for former Mufulira Blackpool trainer Mathews Njovu because he has ‘more Super Division experience.’
But Phiri said in an exclusive interview that he is not happy with the manner he was sacked at the team as the club executive did not show respect for someone who brought the team in the elite league.
“It is disappointing, yes our job is a thankless job but I expected to be given time and chance to be with the team in the Super League because my assistants and I worked hard for qualification.
“The club could have done better, they did not invite me in the meeting they had to discuss my fate and I feel that was unfair and a bit disrespectful, but it is football we understand these things,” Phiri said.
Phiri however said the club has a chance to survive relegation in their maiden season in the top flight.
“Well just because I am no longer there doesn’t mean the team will not survive, I believe in the talent that is there and I am very sure that with the right reinforcement in one or two departments, they will be a force to reckon with,” he said.
