Ugandan international defender Ivan Bukenya continued to shine at his new Indian side Kingerfisher East Bengal FC over the weekend as they defeated DSK Shivajans 2-1 away from home at Balewadi stadium in the I-league.

The lanky defender formerly at Erbil FC and Proline FC earned his first start in central defence following his impressive show on his debut match against Aizwal FC in which he scored from a header in stoppage time to level matters.

He signed for the Indian giants in December last year as a free agent after being released by SouthAfrican giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Two matches have been played so far in the I-league with Bengal FC winning and drawing once.
