Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports has sent a goodwill message to the Blacks Stars as they prepare to take on Uganda in Group D opening match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday.
The Black Stars of Ghana found themselves in Gabon after winning four of their six games and dropped their only points in draws with Mozambique and Rwanda. A 7-1 thrashing of Mauritius in their very first game laid the foundation for qualification
It will be the fourteenth time Ghana and Uganda will face each other in he continental football. The Black Stars have won most of the games.
On Monday morning, the Ministry sent a letter to the team wishing them the very best.
Part of the letter reads: “The Ministry of Youth and Sports wishes the Senior National football team the best of luck in their paticipation in the 31st edition of Africs cup of Nations tournament in Gabon.
“It is the sincere beleif that as a soccer giants on the continent and having established itself as a strong force to reckon with in the game,the Black Stars will live up to the expectations of HE the President Nana Addo and all Ghanaian’s by breaking the 35years wait to bring the cup home”.
