Uganda coach Multin Micho recognised on Tuesday that the team’s fans were not happy with their 1-0 opening Africa Cup of Nations loss in the hands of Ghana and wants victory against Egypt to lift the mood back home.
Uganda, playing at the biggest football stage in Africa, disappointed in the Group D match against Ghana on Tuesday after Egypt held Mali 0-0 in Port Gentil on the same day.
“We know the value of tomorrow’s (today) match. We think out the fans back home in Uganda and how much joy we shall bring on their faces when we get a good result against Egypt,”said Micho.
Ghana’s Adrew Ayew penalty in the first half in the last match made so many of the fans in the country dissapointed but they still remained positive ahead of todays crucial match.
In that game,Cranes had got off to a bright start in what seemed to become a beautiful return to their first Nations Cup since 1978 with Tony Mawejje powerful shot inside the first ten minutes that nearlly slipped out of Razak Brimah hands which remained the closest moment that they could have found the back of the net.
Uganda need to win todays match to increase their chances of going past group stages.
