Gor Mahia FC have appointed Musa Mohammed as their new team captain replacing long serving skipper Jeremy Onyango who retired from football.
The former Langata High School graduate joined Gor Mahia in 2009 as a young player and was appointed as deputy skipper two years ago following the exit of David ‘Calabar Owino. Mohammed has been elevated to team captain and he will be deputized by Rwanda International Jacques Tuyisenge.
New players
Gor have roped in new players in bid to bolster their squad for 2017 season where they will be working towards reclaiming the Kenyan Premier League title they last won in 2015 season.
The new players were unveiled in a ceremony held at a Nairobi Hotel.Notable signing include Rwandan international midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza, the 2016 KPL MVP Kenneth Muguna , former Ushuru FC keeper Shaban Odhoji, former AFC Leopards forward John Ndirangu and former Western Stima defender Joash Onyango .
Others making the list are Oliver Maloba (formerly with Nairobi City Stars), Alpha Onyango , who has been promoted from the club’s youth team,Jeconiah Uyoga , Mike Simiyu formerly with Muhoroni Youth, Philemon Otieno (from Ushuru FC) and Teddy Osok formely with Gunners Youth FC (a lower league team based in Mombasa) an defender Mohammed Karim Makbul.
