Senegal will battle aganist Cameroon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final encounter at the Stade de Franceville in Franceville on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 22h00 (EAT).
Both teams have impressed so far, having made to this stage without defeat in their respective groups.
Senegal sailed in the quarter-finals in a wonderful fashion after winning Group B having defeated Tunisia and Zimbabwe, before drawing with Algeria.
The Lions of Teranga as they are commonly known have been impressive keeping two clean sheets in two matches in the tournament.
Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse is looking to guide the Lions of Teranga to the AFCON semi-finals for the first time since the 2006 tournament in Egypt.
Cisse knows that the task ahead will not be easy and he doesnt feel his team need to carry the tittle favourites tag.
“Cameroon are the favourites. They have won the Nations Cup four times while Senegal have never won it. So, if there has to be a favourite, it must be Cameroon.
“The Indomitable Lions have great players and an experienced coach. I and my team are very honoured to meet them.”
A great band of players led by Cheikhou Kouyate who plays for West Ham and Sadio Mane who turns for Liverpool are set to feature for Senegal.
Cameroon, meanwhile, have not won the title since that success 15 years ago will be out to tame fellow Lions in the fight for a space in Semi-finals.
The Indomitable Lions have been impressive finishing second in Group A despite being without seven of key players for the tournament.
In the groups they recorded two draws aganist Burkina Faso and Gabon and a win over Guinea-Bissau,accumulating five points.
Coach Hugo Boos beleives that anything can happen at this stage and he feels his men will go for a win despite having emerging crop of players led by French-based goalpoacher Benjamin Moukandjo.
“We have young players hungry to play and keen to win.Now that we have reached the quarter-finals, anything can happen,”said Broos.
A starter in each of their first three matches,Moukandjo scored in the opening-match draw with Burkina Faso, the Lorient attacker then went on to grab an assist in the victory over Guinea-Bissau and he is expected to win the match for Indomitable Lions.
