Everything that begins comes to an end, talented magical winger Mike Mutyaba has announced his retirement from football.

Mutyaba last year threatened to retire from football after he was released by Vipers but later changed his mind after different pieces of advice from fellow footballers that saw him switch to Express FC.

In an emotional statement via his official facebook page on Thursday morning, he thanked everyone who has been their for him in his football career sighting Lawrence Mulindwa (former FUFA president) all former clubs, coaches as well as the fans.

” Am here to officially announce my retirement from active football. I want to thank my family ,Fufa, Mr Lawrence Mulindwa, all coaches who did a great job towards my career, footballers local and international, funs, friends, Agents, Abdelbagi and all the clubs that I have played for.

It’s a beautiful game, please parents support kids to play. Will always miss you football. Next is football administration thanks Mr Moses Magogo for the offer as well”.

Mutyaba who is in his late 20’s came into limelight as a teenager in early 2000 while at Kampala Kids League (KKL) and lit up the famous Gothia and Tivoli youth tournaments in Sweden and Denmark putting up a record of most goals scored that still stands to date.

In Uganda, he featured for St. Marys Kitende SS while is school from were he joined Express FC, Vipers Sports and later left for his first major professional stint in Sudan with El-Merreick FC and wrapped it up at DRC. giants TP. Mazembe were he was disturbed by knee injuries hence returning to Uganda took a break off football while in football administration with his Kent football Academy.

At national level, he featured at various youth levels right from the Cubs (U17) upto the senior side the Cranes.
