Egypt manager Hector Cúper has been hopeless in Cup finals for many years and as Egypt play Cameroon in the 2017 Africa Cup of the Nations, he’s probably keeping his fingers crossed–hoping to break away from exile.

In the quarterfinals, Cúper helped Egypt end their winless run against Morocco since 1986–now it’s his turn.

This is the moment, that Egyptian players must play the hearts out for their Coach. The moment Cúper will either swim to safety, against a raging tide, or once again endure another heartache.

The hope for Cúper, lies in the defence as it has been in the entire tournament. It took a second half semifinal strike by Arestide Bance to break the Pharaohs defence–which was yet to concede since match day one of the 2017 Africa Cup of the Nations.

The goalkeeper, Essam El Hadary, 44 years is another key factor. The Wadi degla shotstopper, has been both inspirational and outstanding–rising to the occasion when needed.

At 61-years old, they will probably be no second chance for Cúper to be triump again as a coach. Should he and Egypt squanders this opportunity, the Angentine will fell to be the unluckiest coach ever in football.
