Tusker FC coach George “Best” Nsimbe says his side’s motivation is to reach the Group Stage of this year’s CAF Champions League as they prepare to take on AS Port Louis of Mauritius in a first leg match of the preliminary round on Saturday,February 11 at Moi International Sports Centre ,Kasarani .
Speaking after yesterday’s morning training session Nsimbe said making to group stage of the competition is simply possible.
“I am happy with the club’s managers because they have made it possible for us to have residential training which is very important for any team taking part in such a major competition,”said Nsimbe in an interview with Kenya Premier League portal.
“I also thank God that I have no injuries to worry about apart from just a few small knocks here and there. My ambition is to get to the group stage and I know that is very possible because twice I have come very close to achieving that,” Nsimbe added.
Nsimbe will be missing influential defender Eugene Asike who ineligible to play in this preliminary match as he had passport issues that could not allow him to register in time for the competition.
Tusker’s opponents are scheduled to arrive in Nairobi at 8pm on Thursday and will have a feel of the Kasarani pitch on Friday afternoon.
