Uganda Cranes striker, Brian Umony will likely return to action this month,following a clearance by his doctors who have allowed him to be back to the pitch.
Umony who previously played for St.George FC of Ethiopia sustained a compound right leg fracture on February 2016 during an Ethiopian Premier League match aganist Arbaminch City where he had a collision with an opponent just a minute before half time.
“I will start serious training with the ball by Monday,” said Umony.”I am going to play this year.”
“I have few options at home and abroad but I’m not allowed to say about the options. I wish all the very best to St.George and its fans,” added Umony in an exclusive interview with soka25east.
Umony contract with St Georges ended on December 2016 having previously turned for KCCA FC ,Supersport United,University of Pretoria,MLS side Portland Timmbers,Azam FC and Vietnam Super League side Becamex Binh Duoug.
He joined the record Ethiopian league champions in January,2015 with two years contract from KCCA FC. He was Ugandan footballer of the year in 2008.
He scooped Uganda Premier League’s Golden boot in 2007/08 and CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup’s Golden Boot in 2008.
