Farouk Miya’s screamer vs Mali has been named 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Goal of the Tournament,presented by CNN.
Miya took the prize for his first and only goal of the tournament that saw him assist Uganda hold the West Africans in a match played at Oyem Stadium in Gabon.
Miya saw off competition from the likes of Cameroon’s Aboubakar , who helped Indomitable Lions to win the tournament after hammering home a ferocious shot and Guinea Bissau’s Piqueti, who staked his claim with a spectacular strike during his side’s famous draw against Cameroon.
Miya goal had previously won the CNN Goal of the week award in their last Africa Cup of Nations Group D match where he also scooped the Man of the Match award for his exploits aganist Mali.
