Sierra Leone football giants,FC Johansen will face FUS Rabat of Morrocco on Saturday 11th February 2017 in their first leg of theCAF Champions League preliminary round in Freetown.
Coached by John Keister,FC Johansen will be having a mountain to climb as they will be facing a very experienced side in the continental stage.FUS Rabat were unbeaten in the last season of CAF Confederations Cup where they topped Group B before bowing out in semi-finals after a 1-1 draw to Algerian side Mouloudia Bejaia.
FC Johansen past record in the build-up to the game has not been impressive having suffered 2-1 defeat in the hands of Liberian top side Barracks Young Controllers in a friendly tie played in Monrovia few days ago.
The same story paints FUS Rabat recent encounters where the have won only once in last five matches that they have playes in thr Botola Maroc Telecom Championship.
In their last match that they played aganist RSB Berkane last Friday in Rabat,the Moroccans lost 1-0 a result that made them remain stagnant at 13th position with 17 points from the 16 matches played.
However, they will de depending on Gambian striker Njie Yusupha who has been impressive since joining the Rabat based side few months ago.
For FC Johansen they will be looking to write a record in their history as they have never gone past preliminary stages in any of the continental championship.In their last participation in 2013,they were eliminated by Barrack YC II by a solitary goal.
