Zambia’s Continental represantatives in the on-going CAF Champions league Sensational Zanaco were held to a goalless draw by Rwandanese Club APR. Zanaco now have the tuff task of going to Rwanda and get a result or atleast a scoring draw if they have hopes of advancing to the next stage.
Former Lusaka Dynamos forward Kennedy Musonda threated early on and earned Zanaco a free-kick, From which Taonga Bwembya got a shot on target. Zanaco failed to really make any clear cut chances of scoring .
The visitors threatened whenever they had a set piece with one free-kick hitting the post while a corner was cleared on the line to keep the scores level at nil all.
The departure of Funga,Chansa and the injury of Charles Zulu seemed to have taken a toll on the Bankers as they lacked creativity in midfield hence Saith and Kennedy were left to feed on scraps.
Saith came close in the later minutes of the first half with his effort going narrowly wide. The first half ended nil all.
Coach Numba must have injected a sense of urgency at half-time as they came back a new side in the second half creating quite a number of chances and looking more adventurous.
Richard Kasonde came close when he headed a Augustine Mulenga corner from close range, Only for his effort to go miles above the cross bar. Augustine Mulenga also had his moment when he failed to bury a free header and headed the ball straight into a defender.
Substitutes Enerst Mbewe and Kwame Attram brought in some more energy but could not stir their side to victory as the game ended ended goalless after 90 minutes.
