Ngaya Club manager Lucien Sylla Mchangama hailed the effort and commitment of his his players after they were knocked out of CAF Champions League by Yanga of Tanzania on 6-2 aggregate.
Ngaya managed to hold the Tanzania giants 1-1 in a return leg match played at National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Despite the defeat, Mchangama was keen to stress his pride in the performance of his Ngaya players, and thanked the fans who have followed the team in the second leg of the match.
“The players really fought hard. The fans appreciated it, they were magnificent throughout, I have never seen such enormous support,”said Mchangama.
Mchangama believes that Ngaya can leave the competition with pride after exceeding the expectations of many supporters in second leg.
Yanga now progress to face Zanaco in the first round of tournament. Ngaya are expected home in Moroni on Tuesday morning.
