South Sudan Football Association’s (SSFA) extraordinary general assembly which was slated for 5th March, aimed at resolving a long-standing dispute on suspension of the federation president, Chabur Goc has been postponed.
The disclosure was made by the federation’s spokesperson Gabriel Geng Geng who stated that the federation has failed to secure finances from the Qatar National Bank where the SSFA accounts are held until the federation clarifies the signatories.
“SSFA has announced that the General Assembly, which was scheduled to be held on March 5th has been postponed due to the lack of available finances caused by banking issues.
“The Qatar National Bank, where the SSFA accounts are held, has placed a temporary hold on these accounts while they are in the process of clarifying which SSFA members are entitled to access such accounts,”reads part of the statement.
He further assured members of the public that the general assembly will be conducted soon as the financial resources become available.
The decision to call the assembly was confirmed by FIFA general secretary Fatma Samoura in a detailed letter that indicated the procudures .
Chabur Goc was provisionally dismissed in January this year after the federation accused him for misuse of funds.The meeting that was initially set for 28th February to disscuss the president was also postponed.
