The Young Teranga lions fought back and edged Amajita 4-3 when the two side locked horns in a Group B affair at Levy Patrick Mwanawasa Stadium at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of the Nations.
Amajita scored the quickest goal of the tournament in the opening minute, courtesy of Liam Jordan before Tercious Malepe added the second to increase the lead until halftime.
However, Senegal returned from the half time, totally a different side as they pulled one goal through Ibrahim Ndiyaye, three minutes into the second half.
Ousseynou Cabin Diagne brought the game on level terms in the 55th minute, before he completed his brace to put his side in the lead for the first time.
Kreppin Diatta added his name on the score sheet, scoring the 4th goal for Senegal.
However South Africa’s talisman, Luther Singh who was quite in the entere game reduced the loss to 3- 4 with just 9 minutes before regulation time.
There ware few attempts for Amajita, in the closing stages of the games, hitting the post, but 4-3, it ended in favour of the West Africans, Senegal.
South Africa will play Sudan while Senegal and Cameroon face off in the last round of the group stages of the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, in Zambia.
