Former Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya has dropped out of the race for the FIFA Council Member for the Anglophone Grouping.
Kalusha, 53, who was in the race alongside Kwesi Nyantakyi (Ghana) and Leodegar Tenga (Tanzania) has cited need for unity as the reason for his move.
“I took the decision for the sake of unity in world football,” he told Soka25east.com, while wishing Tenga and Kwesi well in the race.
“I would like to wish both Tenga and Kwesi all the best in the upcoming elections.”
The elections are scheduled for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 16th March 2017 during the 39th Ordinary General Assembly of CAF.
